Myers Residence
Kitchen
This well maintained 25 year old home was in need of an update to better suit the current homeowner’s lifestyle. The kitchen was dated with a low ceiling and pickled cabinets from the 1990’s. Storage was limited and the depth of the refrigerator restricted the flow around the island. By raising the ceiling to match the height of the adjoining breakfast room, it gave the kitchen an expansive feel. The original cabinets were removed and replaced with white shaker-style cabinets up to the new ceiling height for added storage, along with an island cabinet in a gray shaker-style. A pantry cabinet was installed for more efficient storage and the down-draft cooktop was removed from the island for additional prep space. An induction range and counter depth refrigerator helped to maximize the available space and allow for a better flow around the island. The new lighter granite countertops, tile backsplash, and accent lighting provided a light and airy transitional look to their new kitchen. Wood-look tile flooring was also installed throughout the home to provide unity in the design.
Master Bath
The master bath was also in need of an update. The original wall tile, brass framed shower glass, brass plumbing fixtures and carpet was no longer appealing to the homeowner. New wall tile, frameless shower glass, polished chrome plumbing fixtures, and wood-look tile flooring was installed to give this master bath an updated look. The existing tub was resurfaced in white to coordinate with the new color scheme. The master bath vanities were painted white and new polished chrome hardware was added. The original linen cabinet was made taller for scale and added storage, and new cabinet doors were custom made to match the existing cabinet doors. New granite countertops, under mount sinks and plumbing fixtures were installed. Custom framed mirrors completed the new sophisticated look.
